Good triumphs over evil

This is an excellent book. The story is about transforming lives through good deeds. Elle is given a box of shoes that magically transform to fit the feet of whomever she gives them to, only when all the shoes are given out will Elle get her prize.
Elle lives in the foster system after he parents and brother disappear, approached by a fairy named Florena she gets a box full of shoes to give away. Some of them are enchanted to try and make her keep them to herself and this fail the test.
Elle shows how good she really is by giving all shoes away, even to someone who is horrible towards her and her foster sisters. Then when everything is done there is a final test before Elle can retrieve her family.
A must read for all lovers of fairies.

"Elle’s Magical Shoes" is an enjoyable children's book. It incorporates many themes: generosity, friendship, family, and forgiveness to name just a few.

The author effectively weaves Elle’s story, which occurs in the real world, with a story occurring in the fairy world. Although the stories are linked from early in the book, I didn’t fully anticipate the way she brought them together in the conclusion.

Girls of upper elementary age will enjoy "Elle’s Magical Shoes". Children could read it independently, but it is also a book that parents and children could read together allowing it to spark some interesting discussions.

This was a strong debut. I look forward to future books from this author.

Doing the right thing for the right reason at the right time. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Well, eleven year old Elle is going to find out. Two years ago Elle’s parents and brother went missing while at a school band competition in London. Her world fell apart that day. She was uprooted from everything familiar and placed in foster care.

One day, Elle is gifted a magical box containing 11 pairs of shoes…magical shoes. She is tasked with giving the shoes to the right person. Simple, right? Wrong. Nothing is ever simple if fairies are involved and Elle very soon figures that out.

This is a heartwarming magical tale that will surely delight readers young and old. Elle took her task very seriously by putting aside her own personal desires and grudges.

Reighard has written a story of family, love, selflessness and courage. I found myself talking to Elle when it looked like she was going to falter and cheered her on when she made good choices. The magic spilled over the pages as I read and turned each page. It was magical!

This would be a wonderful book to read with a child and have discussions regarding why Elle made the choices she did. I only wish the ending hadn’t been quite so rushed and abrupt. There is another book, Elle’s Magical Books… YES!

Parental Note:
I wholeheartedly recommend this book for children 8, if an advance reader, to 12. It is a good selection to read together and introduce the child to a longer story.
